I’m wondering how classic cartoon and comic book characters would fit into life as a weiguoren in Taiwan.
For example, Archie Andrews would do great with the girls and be a popular teacher, but I’m sure Betty Cooper would go wild with jealousy about all the local chicks into Archie.
But how would Andy Capp do? How long would it be before he got banned from Carnegie’s?
And how about Elmer Fudd? Could he find a girlfriend?
Pretty sure Betty Boop would be a local sensation on the boob tube.
Wile E. Coyote would not survive his first attempt to cross a street. Pinnochio would become President. And Bambi would be served up at a local night market, on skewers.
Calvin’s dad could be me.
Roadrunner wouldn’t last three beeps.

The Pink Panther would be in the PINK. Pepe Lepew would be running a chodufu stall.
Captain Caveman would fit right in, in the countryside…
Batwoman could be the new spokeslady for a new line of chic S and M clothing , while Batman could be happy and hang out in Hsimenting?
Spiderman could do the movie billboards as a side job.
Beetle Bailey could be the National Security Adviser for Prez Ma.
While Porky Pig and Bugs Bunny would teach english.
Speedy Gonzales would be a scooter punk in Taichung (or maybe Chungli, making Mordeth cry).
Foghorn Leghorn would end his days in a morning market.
Tweety would have fallen to bird flu.
BamBam Rubble would fit right in at kindy.
The dog… Foghorn’s nemesis, the one that’s always chained up… would be chained to the wall.
Oh, and the Tazmanian Devil would be a member of the Legislative Yuan.
Some quite cartoonish characters roaming around Taiwan. Even in the mirror.
Does that mean YOU are a cartoon character?

Yosemite Sam’s low EQ would soon see him ostracized by Taiwanese colleagues.
But Fred Flintstone would be real popular with the Taipei County types.
