JD, just keep up the good work, steer clear of alcohol for a month or so.
If you have alcoholism running in your family, or the substance abuse gene, that is, then taking regular scheduled breaks from any vices, such as alcohol, tobacco etc. might be a good idea. Say 2-3 months every year.
Well, I never say never…because it’s never worked.
I quit eating beef overnight, and I’ve always wondered why that was so easy. but when I think about it, it wasn’t. It was a conscious effort to not eat beef. I would flip right over the menu’s beef selection.
Just Sunday I was at Hola and they were having a wine promotion. I like wine, a lot. But I consiously turned my head and walked past.
Pretty much, that’s what it takes right now. It works.
What are the odds?
Well, if you’re going to be like that, I can stick it away too.
How about picking up the liquid portion of the tab at the next IP mod meet?
I didn’t want to keep this thread going just to keep track if no one else was going to post; it seemed kind of selfish. So I’ve been keeping track on my signature.
Honestly I’ve had no problem. No cravings to drink. I’ve been waking up earlier, which is nice, as it gives me some free time to myself. I feel like I’m losing more weight, but can’t be sure.
I don’t know why I didn’t have the willpower to quit before, and I don’t know why I have it now. It is odd to say the least. :loco:

If you dropped say 4 small cans of beer a day that would be 4-500calories a day or nearly 1/2kg a week if you have not replaced the calories with something else. (all very approx’ but you get the general idea)
Closing in on 10 days. Not getting any easier or any more difficult. However the thought of having a beer or six when this is over please and disgusts me simultanesouly. :s
Beer tastes like crap if you’ve been off it for a while. By the third one it tastes ok. Don’t know about the single malts. Good on ya, JD. You’re probably losing weight, Have some nice energy, you feel more patient and less tired, and spending more time with your family.
Bingo. I was drinking a little too much there for awhile and really started feeling like crap. Feeling much better now that I’ve laid off it pretty much. I see cutting down as a positive choice rather than an endurance test.
