I Did Quit for 30 Days...Now what?

I’m quitting for 30 days. It won’t be easy. But I want to keep a record.

12:12AM

29 days to go.

Good luck.

That’s not important right now to discuss. It’s the actual physical stopping of something I’ve been wanting to stop for a while. Like learning a new behavior.

It’s just one of those hairy little pimply things that have slipped by for years slightly under the radar or easily brushed aside.

Anyway, it’s the process of quitting that interests me at this time, mainly because I’ve never been good at quitting things, replacing them with others maybe, but not consciously quitting.

Anyway, off to bed.

Peace

Sounds like a positive move anyways. When the going gets tough, you can always come back here and motivate yourself.(As in try to remember how you felt when you wrote those words…) Best of luck Sir.

Ps: Crap! Flounders only lasts 14 days… I’ll “bump” this one for you.

One Day at a time. And break that day up into quarters. So i guess its really one quarter of a day at a time. Works for me anyway.

It’s been seven years since I last masturbated in public.

I meant to say it’s been seven years since I last masticated a plum pit. Dang Chinese spell checkers!

So, you’re distracted from “it” right now. You normally do “it” now, right?
No, but there is a comfort level of knowing that soon enough I will be able to do it, that is the bothersome part. Like I said before, this is behavior altering exercise.

Oddly enough, when you quit one thing, all the other things are pretty much the same.

Kinda makes you wanna quit everything.

Go figure… :loco:

28 including today

27 days. I have noticed a hole in my usual behavior where the halted behavior used to be. I do catch myself starting to go into that behavior when the thought that I’ve strikes me.

Somewhere I once read that it takes 7 days to alter a behavior.

26 days

As busy as I am, it’s now hard for me to remember when I had time to do what I quit.

Go figure

23 days
first week over
no major difficulties

The item I have quit btw is alcohol.

jdsober

Ok, how about eating some antabus - good right before the forumosa HH…

Nah, I don’t want to rely on any other substance.

But you don’t strike me as an alcoholic???

Well, I never said I was.

But alcoholism runs deep in my family. However, it’s a dangerous thing having enough money to get as drunk as you want every night of the week.

Know what I mean? :sunglasses:

jdsober
Congrats jd!

Keep it up! Glad to know it’s alcohol. I was fearing worse… :stuck_out_tongue:

JD, just keep up the good work, steer clear of alcohol for a month or so.

If you have alcoholism running in your family, or the substance abuse gene, that is, then taking regular scheduled breaks from any vices, such as alcohol, tobacco etc. might be a good idea. Say 2-3 months every year.
