I left Taiwan with filling Job seeking Arc.
After 5 months, I was hired by a new employer and applied a new working permit.
Now, I asked my friend to go to NIA and found out that my ARC was not yet cancelled by previous employer. NIA advise to secure new work permit then ask my previous employer to cancel my ARC. Then will file a new ARC.
Is anyone encountered this?
What is the procedure for a foreign professional who intends to change his/her employer?

1.In accordance with the provisions of Article 53 of the Employment Service Act, if a foreign professional worker needs to change employers, the new employer applies for the permit and submits the employment leave certificate of the employed foreigner.
2.In addition, the operating time for review is 7 business days for application cases submitted online at the Ministry, while 12 business days for those submitted in person; therefore, the employer should take note of the previously mentioned operating time to avoid the window period during the time where the foreigner first terminates the contract, but doesn’t have the new employment permit yet.
