If I wish to open a book store, what kind of license do I need?

I’m interested in opening a Book store in Kaohsiung, and is wondering if I require some kind of license, or proof of business?

If youre gonna put in the effort, why not make a cafe with a section for buying books?

Check with an accountant or the dept that handles registering businesses.

Actually it’s already a bubble tea store, that I bought from my uncle, but there’s too many competition nearby.
As there is a college, middleschool and highschool nearby, and the nearest japanese comic store is about 20~30 minute scooter ride away, I was thinking of opening such a store.

That’s cool.

Well, as per Okami’s suggestion, there are plenty of recommendations for such accountants if you browse the sticky topics in the Business forum. I’m sure you will find plenty of information.

Keep us posted on your progress

Just do it the Taiwanese way… start operating it however you wish… and then if you actually start making money, then bother about the legalities.

Most small businesses do this…

We might be able to collaborate. My company is registered to buy, sell, and distribute books and stationery in Taiwn. This way you might only have to open the store and then not deal with the inconvenience of official invoices.
