All the same (and I don’t know how they’re measuring congestion) it doesn’t look that much worse than other major cities. Brought back memories of my London commuting, it’s amazing how fearless you become once you’re used to the traffic volumes.
And bike messengers themselves are not saints. I’ve seen some very questionable riding from those boys, I once chased down a dude who ‘split’ a group of Japanese youngsters on a zebra-crossing, causing 2 of them to jump back in fright. They have these tight deadlines, these promises of 1 hour delivery, and sometimes it brings about a type of anarchistic riding - the sort that enrages car drivers pedestrians and does other cyclists zero favours.
