I was wondering if anyone here had any insights on the import process and taxes/costs for normal size cars from Canada into Taiwan. My car is a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and is like new with almost no KM. I would hate to sell it back home since it has deprecated so much but is a car I could still drive for years. I plan on staying in Taiwan permanently so I am hoping to import the car here. I heard one post mention that cars older then 3 years can not be imported, period. There were no follow ups to that post so I am now confused as to this restriction. Can anyone provide any insight into car imports. Thanks in advance for any help.
Don’t bother. If you love the Sunfire that much, you can get another one here for less than the shipping and import taxes. American cars are worth nothing in Taiwan (unless they are US built Hondas or Toyotas).
