Indian National Born in Taiwan

Dear Friends,

I was born in Taiwan in 1984. Lived there upto 1991. Both my Mother and Father are of Indian Nationality. After that moved back to India, and never been to Taiwan since.

I was wondering whether I stand in a advantageous position for getting Residency Visa/Citizenship of Taiwan due to my birthplace being Taiwan.

Your guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Prashant

I’m afraid not. Taiwanese nationality is based on the nationality of the parents, not where the birth took place. So since your parents are both Indian nationals, you can’t claim Taiwan citizenship. Much the same for a visa or residence.
