White Knight syndrome was the accusation against you, IIRC.
It has been discussed in western cultures for decades. Like freeing tibet. i was sitting for an hour or 2 in elementary school listening and watching projector inages of this issue, along with slave labor, in india and china. No one cares if its not in their immediate circles 
White knights are still caged circus spectacles it would seem. Perhaps its time the knights bought guns and/or learned to code.
