Im from Australia but got my drivers license in Taiwan. I dont have a license in Australia.
Can i still drive in Australia with my international license from Taiwan if im just visiting for less than 3 months?
In general, can you drive in your own country on an international license (anyone know) ?
In New South Wales, you can use your Taiwan Licence for up to 3 months. Other states are probably similar. You can probably convert that Licence to a NSW one without having to do a Driving Test too.
I don’t think anyone will notice or check unless you get pulled over past 3 months.
For what it’s worth, some rental car agencies will not accept customers if the driver’s license doesn’t match the passport even if you’re in your home country where the passport was issued.
