International Review of Taiwan's Implementation of ICERD (discrimination convention)

There is understandibly quite a bit of interest on these boards in discrimination. The UN International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) is domestic law in Taiwan and the government has issued a national report. This week, a panel of international experts reviewed the report. You can watch the proceedings here and see if any of our issues have been flagged. My guess is not since migrant workers and indigenous peoples have much more serious problems.

This is an interesting development, and another indicator of how many things were happening, often quietly, during the Tsai government.

I would add however that some posters on forumosa are indeed migrant workers. This community is more mixed than it may look at first glance.
