Is a Costco membership worth it?

Hello,

A friend of my wife’s family have offered us a Costco membership on their business account. Apparently we could get a year’s membership card for NT$500.

My wife and I are still debating whether to take up this offer or not. We sometimes tag along with others when they are going to Costco and grab a few things, but mostly we are happy shopping at either Quan Lian or the local markets.

Convenience wise Costco is not too far out of the way for us and I could easily swing by after work to pick stuff up.

However, the key point for us is whether we could actually save any money.

Do you think that your Costco card membership is worth it? Do the bulk buying savings work out to save you money?

Thanks

For the cheese alone, yes. And toilet paper. The rest are temptations…

Do remember the same card can be used abroad.

For that kind of money, oh yes.

Half of the monthly membership fee. Worth it.

Buying in bulk. Worth it.

Having access to buy 1lb of gummie bears. Worth it.

for 500 ntd, oh yes. Dairy products alone are worth it. plus cereals, rice, frozen goods. Fruit, candy, cool stuff at Christmas, turkey at thanksgiving. also some cheaper alcohol.
