English is my first language since my parents are from South Africa. I grew up speaking English but only happen to be born in Germany. My question is this: Is there a possibility for me to still get a teaching job legally (with ARC and everything) despite those restrictions?

Would be entitled to a SA Passport, would think that would be the solution. Just realized I typed a lot of “Woulds”. This may attract Fred Smith .

That was my first thought when I read that old thread. I assume there’s some reason why the OP can’t do this, but I’m struggling to think of one.

I’m curious because so many people talk about or express interest in teaching English.

Teaching English has definite quality of life upsides. Money/career prospects not so good.

Can anyone confirm me about India ? From what I see, they should not have any legal issue getting the work permit

Yes! I’m from the Philippines and I teach English in a government senior high school here in Taiwan. For this project, there are only 2 of us from the Philippines who were accepted. Most are from the countries known to have English as their official/native language. However, the official language of the Philippines is English, so I think that made it possible for us to be here.
