Is 西兰花 legit? What's the chinese word for broccoli?

My gf says brocolli is 花椰菜. She says 西兰花 is direct translation of cantonese. never heard of it.

i think it’s 西兰花. Google translate says so. Google img says so lol. so is 西兰花 legit?

In Taiwan, it’s usually called 綠花椰菜 or 青花菜

this one. from google white is 花椰菜, green is 西兰花 but google not always right

“西蘭花” the name of use that it’s from a western culture.
青花菜 It’s a local name from Fujian.

They say xilanhua in both northern and southern China, though maybe not 100% of the time.

I usually hear “美國花菜”

That makes no sense. We have cauliflower in America too.

As is so often the case, with vegetables common sense just goes out the window.
