Is There a Problem with Nested Quotes?

Here’s a post in which nesting a quote seems to work:

Prophet-leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Dies

Here’s a post in which it doesn’t seem to work:

Prophet-leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Dies

The people at Discourse seem to have recognized this issue:

The third Discourse link, the one immediately above, seems to indicate they did something about the problem.

If this is just an occasional quirk, or if it’s not considered a problem, or if I’m simply wrong about whether there’s a problem, I don’t mind if the topic is Temped or deleted.

I’ve had this problem, too…

I fix it by using preformatted text, so it looks like this:

It’s not pretty… But it gets the point across

And the second:

You have never done business with Mormons as a woman if you think they consistently engender “Christ-like behavior”.

Do you have a personal experience, or did you hear something on the internet?

Thanks for your quick response, and my apologies for creating an unnecessary thread.

Well, not so quick, sorry about that really. And no apologies needed. I’m a teacher, I like questions
