Is there any good pubs to go watch Football?

I am coming in January. I was wondering if there are any good pubs that show EPL games or any other top European leagues. I am looking for Taipai mainly, but if there is a couple good places in another city maybe I will go there instead. I am looking for a place where there might be a few westerners there watching the games, mainly Man Utd games, but whatever is on. I just want to make sure I won’t miss too much footie if I come to Taiwan, I couldn’t live without it.

Hello,
The Shannon Taipei is Taipei’s only Irish bar. We have 2 big screens that broadcast the EPL games frequently. Feel free to pop in when you arrive here! The address is attached.
Cheers,

Dear Relly,

Doubt anybody is going to argue about that! The place for you to go to see Manchester United getting relegated is the Tavern Premier in Taipei’s business district. We have over 60 plasma screens and three projector screens. We show this season an average of 7-8 EPL games per week live,2-3 Coca Cola Championship games, top Dutch Eredivisie, Italian, Spanish, Portugese and German Leagues, Champions League as well (for technical reasons we do not show the French League, sorry)! We publish our weekend schedule on our homepage each week www.tavern.co.uk from thursday onwards, if you like to subscribe to our weekly newsletter you can do that via our homepage.

Cheers!
Michel

PS: Come on Newcastle United

Not another bloody manc! :unamused:

(Relly - just jesting.)

Are you from Guildford, Torquay or Singapore?

Thanks guys both of those places sound good, where is the Tavern Premiere because I think I want to live close to it, sounds great.

I am actually from Canada but a Man Utd fan through and through.

Thank God - couldn’t handle one actually from Manchester! :noway:

Hi

The tavern last year showed the NFL on live at 1am on many Monday mornings.

I’m sure if we can get enough people there, they will show everyweek’s games.

This weeks games:

Friday Sept 10th. New England Vs. Carolina (replay) 10pm ESPN South Africa

Sunday September 12th (Monday morning Sept. 13th) :

1 am: Seattle Seahawks vs. New Orleans Saints (Goara Japan)

1 am: Baltimore vs. Clevland (Supersport Gold Thailand)

Monday evening replay:

9:30 pm Dallas Vs. Minnesota (Supersport Gold Thailand)

Let me know if you’re interested

Not a problem, we are open anyway! :stuck_out_tongue:

Where do you get the schedules from?

Tav cap, Are you saying that your place would be open late Sunday night for NFL coverage? The games go from 1AM-7AM.

for live NFL go to www.dstv.com and check the program guide on ESPN…

I just prefer to watch it at home

If you’re here for a while then get yourself satellite TV for the live sports, a projector tv :sunglasses: (not necessary but damn sweet) and then visit either Jason’s in 101 or the Breeze centre and grab a couple of boxes of your favourite piss. It doesn’t get any better than this.
