Is There Roller or Ice Hockey in Kaohsiung?

Hello,
Anyone know if there is Roller or Ice Hockey league in Kaohsiung? I used to play in the United States and I am looking for a pickup league here in Taiwan. Thanks!!

I know there’s kids roller, not sure about adults. Some guys in Chaiyi play road hockey, and there are ice hockey teams based in both, but all games are played in Taipei.

Thanks Sir!

If you’re interested in playing ice hockey, shoot me a PM with your name and email, and I’ll get you set up on the league’s website and forum. You’ll be able to learn enough from other guys in K-town to decide if you want to play.

I used to live in Kaohsiung and play inline hockey at JhongShan University… they have a team there, the coach is a friend of mine, name’s Mark Huang. He speaks really good English, he’s an inline speedskating coach but coaches the team. They play Sunday afternoons for fun, and practices Thursday nights, there’s a wide, wide range in levels. Just show up there at the outdoor rink ( facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pi … =549019454) and say hi to Mark, he’s the older guy (about 40) there. They play around 4pm-ish. Tell him Julian sent you, hopefully he still remembers me, it’s only been a year… hah. Mark likes having foreigner friends, he’ll insist you come and play. Do you have gear? They’ve got some extra, old, really old, stuff there that might be sufficient for a bit.

As for ice, there’s a small, oddly shaped rink out in some amusement park mall called E-Da World, or something like that. If you go to Foster Hewitts pub ever, talk to the guys that run it, they both played ice hockey in our league in Taipei last year and before, they’d know more about any possible ice hockey in the south than I do at this point.

Perfect!! Thanks very much! This is what i’m looking for! ( Starting with the inline) I will check it out. Looks like I’ll be having my gear shipped over…

Hi Everyone!
Soon I am moving to K-town and I am curious whether there are still ice-rinks for ice hockey available in the city. I found one in the Taiwan hockey website but its facebook page writes: closed permanently.
Thanks!
