Your biggest mistake was to expect anything other than crap from a Chinatrust hotel. I stayed in one once and it was awful and ruined my impression of the whole hotel chain. Must be some writeoff for them or they just have too much money to play with so they decided to open hotels. Research any and all hotels before you go anywhere! There are some great hotels in Taiwan, but I believe it is safe to say that none of them have the word Chinatrust in their name.
