Israel declares state of war after terrorist attacks (Part 2)

What’s more interesting is wondering if you knew this before, you know, when you posted the pics, or if you’re learning it now because you had to,

I respect the bravery of Palestinians chanting anti-Hamas slogans, but I doubt it’s very many. A few hundred? Don’t you get chucked off a building?

Burning tires and hatchet treatments.

It’s all very simplistic whilst very complicated at the same time.

Is this the launchpad for asking whether it’s a European Swallow or African Swallow?

Or we could go the superman route of “It’s a bird! it’s a plane! No, it’s…(splat)”

Obviously I get the references, but I’m not sure what your point is.

Saying shit that’s usually funnier in my head.

You or me?

me.

Genocide is funny?

I’m really not getting this.

Dark humor jokes, but nevermind.

OK

He’s using humor to kill inner thoughts of genocide? That’s one way to blunt reality, I suppose.

Humans can enact horrible things. Genocide is a horrible thing. Humans can enact genocide,

That’s how I do it. If P then Q. Q.

No surprise there. Lessens the shock. :high_voltage:

If you read the LI post, you’ll see that the poll of Palestinians was taken May 1-4, 2025. It was taken among 1,270 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research. No idea who they are. As you might imagine, polling is difficult.

But I’d venture that we could take it again today with little difference. Since Yasser Arafat broke the promises he made at Camp David in 2000, flew back triumphantly to the West Bank, and there received a hero’s welcome it’s clear that Palestinians will not settle for anything less than the destruction of Israel.

As true today as it was then.

“The overwhelming majority is opposed to Hamas disarmament or the departure of its military leadership from the Gaza Strip.”

Well, maybe the Israelis are ready now for peace, or occupied peace or whatever it is they have to do, because it’s ALL on them.

We had some guests over recently and one guy was from Israel. When he mentioned that everyone looked awkward until he said something about how he doesn’t like Bibi.

I feel like Israel has really damaged their reputation. I’m seeing more and more antisemitic stuff everywhere, not even from people who support Palestinian statehood or Hamas sympathizers. People really do not like Jews and Israelis right now.

And I’m not talking about the BS antisemtic stuff. I was just reading an article on the history of coin clipping and in the comments they were blasting Jews for doing that. I see this more and more.

There’s a genocide going on right now and we’re discussing to what degree Palestinians support Hamas.

Anti-Semitism and general hate for Jews has existed in Europe for millennia. Going by what I hear on BBC America daily, it’s pretty bad in the UK, too.

I don’t hear much of that here in the US. Most people I talk to agree, what is Israel supposed to do with a population whose goal is the death of Jews and who’s made it clear they’re willing to sacrifice almost everything to make those deaths possible?

Arabs and Persians aren’t willing to help Palestinians. The world is only willing to condemn Israel. Palestinians are only willing to destroy Israel, asap. It’s a death wish for Israel if it agrees to be neighbors to a Palestinian state; Hamas has stated multiple times that it’s willing to make 7-Oct happen as often as it takes to destroy Israel. Palestinians are happy with Hamas leadership.

Seems to me the world leaves Israel two mutually exclusive choices. Either Jews or Palestinians migrate out and away from Israel. Choose one.

We should also talk about hate for Palestinians in Israel, “A new poll by the institute led by Hermann which was taken at the end of July, showed that 79% of Jewish Israelis weren’t personally troubled by reports of famine and suffering by Palestinians in Gaza”, but hopefully things are changing
