Israel declares state of war after terrorist attacks (Part 2)

I hope they crash.

Boeing QC might be able to help with that. Very popular trend these days.

Well, obviously it’s Israel’s fault.

Hamas are just a poor, misunderstood governing body that deserves everybody’s sympathy.

How dare they attack Israeli soldiers!

Those barbarians, for not just rolling over and letting genocide be committed against their people.

The audacity, really…to go up against the Chosen Ones.

Obviously it’s Israel right or wrong.

It’s one of the more Orwellian legacies of the post-9/11 Bush II administration: conveniently label anyone who opposes you, engages in criminal activity, or maybe you just simply dislike as a “terrorist”. Now fighting foreign soldiers on your home soil during a military occupation is a terror plot. Well, it’s not as if the British and French never employed such rhetoric. Remember the Battle of Algiers!

And people who take over centuries old cities, towns, and villages are called “settlers.”

IDF’s internal database shows that 83% of those killed in Gaza are civilians.

Netanyahu’s been going around saying they have a 1:1 civilian-combatant kill ratio.

Obviously I’m not trying to justify it, but isn’t that close to standard percentage in war?

EDIT: Higher than normal. Civilian casualty ratio - Wikipedia.

I’m amazed that a far right extremist like Taylor Greene is displaying such conscience when the rest of the world has all but abandoned its principles in Gaza.

It’s the new bipartisan congressional outreach program, from D to Q!

What an obscene antisemitic shit-fest this thread is. Such glee at the pronouncement of every Hamas-adjacent/sympathetic organization out to vilify Israel.

These are the combatants for whom names are known. The combatants who did not formally introduce themselves in the process of attempting to kill Jews are not included. Surely even the most ardent antisemites can admit that the vast majority of Gazan combatants are not formally part of a military?

Pssst…the civilians killed dont include those who couldn’t be identified by name either.

Both combatants and civilians are biased in the same direction.

Try again, hasbarista

Ha ha, there it is.

That doesn’t make any sense. It’s a list of names. Hamas and its media allies are claiming that 17% of the list are combatants due to what is officially given in the list, but that’s obviously nowhere near the case given how many Gazans fight without formal induction into the military.

If Israel really wanted the truth to get out it would stop assassinating the few journalists left alive in Gaza and start letting the international news media in to report the facts.

Let me explain to you how percentages work.

Number of militants (Hamas, PIJ, etc.) killed: downward bias because people without names weren’t included.

Number of civilians killed: downward bias because of people without names weren’t included.

Ratio: roughly the same
Percentages: roughly the same

Another hospital bombed, more journalists killed.
