Just to be clear here as well: Sinica does not have “assistant professors.” They hire “assistant researchers.”

The title is “assistant research fellow” 助研究員 and official guidelines allow people in this position to use “assistant professor” in English if they wish (same for associate etc). But the individual institutes have different policies regarding what English title to use in English language documents that they issue.
