It's cold and it s*cks!

I don’t know what strange physiological change has occurred in me, the posterboy for pa leng, but I’m yet to be really uncomfortable this winter. Maybe it’s this new coat I bought?

I bought some nano-textile underwear … long johns and shirts …wonder where the nano is in the fiber? Is it alive? Is it extraterrestial? It fits tight, like a Superman suit!

The “nano” is what happens to your wallet after you buy the underwear.

Here in Yilan we’ve had 2 consecutive sunny days o.O In December o____O

THE END IS NIGH

I have sunshine on my face and feel… nothing. My new boss allows me to open the blinds and look, I can see His Handsomeness from here! Anyways, it has been sunny in Taipei these days, but still 16/17 degrees. We expect highs of 22 today -yippee!- but still 18 degrees outside, 19 degrees indoors, sun or no sunshine.

Maybe the dust on the window reflects the heat.

Its hazy … probably all the dirt blown in from China.

Really been a dry, sunny and relatively warm winter so far. What gives? Will there be the possibility of water rationing if this continues?

Cold & gloomy down here for all but a day in the last fortnight. Plus the pollution has been quite bad the last few days, hanging hazy over Hualien.

13 degrees in Taipei, expected to go down to 8 Wednesday. Oh, and rain is coming.

Actually I think I’m more worried about Friday and Saturday - sunny, supposedly. But is this air from China? Does that mean the weekend’s going to be especially polluted?

Don’t know how it can get worse. Last weekend I when I went out, in Xindian, you couldn’t see the top floors of the buildings. Mountains? Where?! Usually, from the HTC park, you can see the Maokong gondolas. Not this weekend, you can’t.

Expecting the “sudden temperature drop, with 40% chance of rain”, I came to work dressed for snow trekking. Lo and behold, I am sweating like a piggy being slow roasted.

Current hourly PSI in Xindian as I type this: 63; Hourly PM 2.5 Index: 3 (low).
In Danshui: 60; PM2.5: 2 (low).
In Fengshan, Kaohsiung County: 106; PM2.5: 9 (high).
Shenzhen: 259.
Chengdu: 315.

Oh, it can get worse. There was one recent day that was quite bad, but I don’t remember which day that was.

Yeah, what happened to that? It’s quite warm today!

Oh, in terms of edible air, I believe you.

Yesterday we were talking: what about if this was the end of winter, the beginning of Spring? Yesterday, it truly felt like a real Spring day.

And yet, it’s sunny now. :ohreally:

WE also have unseasonably warm weather here in the bay area now. In the daytime. Today I didn’t even need a jacket in the daytime, just a long sleeve shirt.

But at night it still gets cold. I am ready for summer already. Even though our apt is heated 24/7 to 24c.

what a bunch of tarts!

These communist soldiers don’t mind the cold, they’re well 'ard. They’ll kick your soft capitalist arses when they swim over.

The guys in the night market will make a fortune selling them Made-in-China T-shirts saying “Welcome to Taiwan”.

:howyoudoin:

Me think they are koreans - if Icon likes them, she must be desperate… Korean men are in general not known to be the most gentlemanlike.

Dated one, was best pals in college with another… I am a sucker for Asian guys. But they were church mice, so rather pleasant.
