J.M.W. Turner show at CKS Memorial in Taipei

For just two more days, CKS Memorial Hall is hosting an exhibition of some 80 works (mainly from the Tate in London) by the early-nineteenth-century British artist Turner.

It’s terrific.

It’s also damn crowded, which is not improved by the fact that many attendees want to stick their phone in front of every @#$! canvas and take a photo.

Tickets: NT$500 (NT$250 for seniors).

Another high-profile show, From Impressionism to Early Modernism: French Masterpieces from the Robert Lehman Collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art is about to leave the National Palace Museum. It’s probably equally crowded.

Holy crap. Yeah I’d definitely go to that.

I remember a small Turner exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in DC in the mid-70s. Pretty stunning I thought.

I’d probably be willing to tolerate the crowds for Turner.

Tate is great place and it’s free, too bad in Taiwan you need pay.

Darn … reminding myself for the umpteenth time to try and find a way to keep better track of what shows are here.

I would have liked to have gone to this, but no way am I going anywhere near it this final weekend!
