Japan and the United States Announce $1 billion partnership

So while Canada is trying to figure out how to best negotiate with America, Japan seems to have it figured out.

Japan and the US (the two nations that have Taiwan ROC’s back) have signed a “historic $1 billion deal” into AI and tech.

Japan knows what’s up. Japan has the 4th largest economy by GDP as well as one of the most technologically advanced navies in the world.

“The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has reportedly informed Congress that the first six days (D+6) of the (Iran) war cost $11.3 billion.”

Imagine if the US and Japan had $11.3 billion dollars to spend on scientific progress instead of a paltry $1 billion. Some things are more important though I guess.

They’re saying that the total cost of the war on Iran will be around $1 trillion dollars when all the costs are added up. Seems like a lot to pay for being publicly humiliated again by another third world country. OTOH $1 trillion dollars worth of scientific progress would have been life changing.

Maybe next time.

You are not making any sense. National Security takes precedence, then comes scientific exploration and progress. It’s like Maslows Heirarchy of Needs. How dumb would it be to spend 11B on science and have it snatched or ruined because 1B was spent on national security

It’s so funny to see people complain about spending on national security from the safety of their own country

So the $2 trillion dollars the U.S. spent on the war in Iraq makes complete sense to you?
