Back in 2005, Jeb! gave Marco Rubio a sword, which he called the sword of Chiang. The video is making rounds again because of Marco and Jeb!'s rivalry in the GOP primary.
I’m pretty sure Jeb! didn’t have CKS in mind when he said the “unleash Chiang” bit, but the article found that George H.W. Bush used to threaten that he was going to “unleash Chiang” on his tennis opponents in the 70s and the 80s, and Bush senior was referencing CKS and mocking the right-wing nuts of his generation.
Bush senior’s daughter Doro Bush Koch wrote her memoir, My Father, My President, “By the way, he still uses a phrase in his tennis games that he picked up in China: ‘unleash Chiang’—a reference to Chiang Kai Shek, the nationalist leader exiled on Taiwan—as slang for Let’s start the game and serve the big one. He had a bit of a weak serve, and it was his way of making fun of it: Time to unleash Chiang!”
So Jeb!'s fictional mystical warrior who Jeb! said “is someone who believes in Conservative principles, believes in entrepreneurial capitalism, believes in moral values that underpin a free society. I rely on Chang with great regularity in my public life … Chang, this mystical warrior, has never let me down,” and his sword really look like this:
