I’m from Chicago and Malort is super famous. Everyone from chicago knows what it is. Anytime a visitor comes in we bring them to a bar and force it on them. It’s just something everyone does pretty much. The shot itself is disgusting. Like ridiculously disgusting. It’s not something people actually drink here because they like it. Just a rite of passage thing or if you’re having a really bad night. Which sometimes is both.
