Good plan, poorly executed ![]()
He didnāt say if it worked or not!
the bank anyway, sounds like you were on solid ground there.
He doesnāt always directly challenge them, he makes them elaborate and explain those views . Which in a way either breaks down as nonsense or helps people understand it.
Iām a pretty left-wing guy, but when I hear āprogressivesā talk about Joe Rogan and read articles about him from sources like Vice and The Guardian, I feel like we exist in completely different realities. Itās similar to the hatred I see towards Jordan Peterson, but I can sort of understand why Peterson is so hated because heās essentially a conservative with traditional values that go against the sorts of things some progressives champion. But Joe Rogan endorsed Bernie Sanders and calls for more wealth distribution, better public services, and other things that progressives love. I really donāt understand it.
The only explanation I can think of is that heās so hated because heās unashamedly into āmanlyā activities like fighting, hunting, and fast cars. And, also, because he thinks transgender women shouldnāt compete in sports against biological women.
There are some on the left that view words as harmful like the person who wrote that article. Saying he thinks about āvictims of these wordsā when some of joes guest speaks. The idea of āhate speechā and censorship of those ideas is becoming a real issue.
I personally think ideas should be aired openly to let people think for themselves. I think joe does a pretty good job of making his guest really elaborate their thoughts and reasoning for people to judge for themselves.
Joe himself seems to be pretty liberal and progressive on many issues. I think he picked up more hate because he was critical of Biden this election. He ended up voting for 3rd party for the libertarian candidate. Which happens to be the only woman running for president but of course these ultra āprogressivesā will cherry pick when to virtue signal and get mad he didnāt vote for another rich white man
I think Spotify podcasts wonāt work since they donāt have the comment section. Joe will of course get his money, but I donāt see it working out for Spotify with their podcasts.
This was an interesting interview. One of my favorite wrestlers in the WWE.
Am I to understand that his podcast is no longer available anywhere but on Spotify?
Iām really tired and bored with him anyway but might be someone I want to check sometimes.
Iām in the same boat. I went through the process of downloading Spotify but itās such a clunky operation to get one of his videos going on my computer I usually quit before watching. If he has clips on YT from an interesting guest Iāll go through the headache.
Half the fun of watching it on YT was the comments. I think Spotify didnāt understand this aspect of his success on YT.
Spotify is in trouble. I donāt think they can monetize their platform outside of subscriptions. And they face so much more competition in music streaming now. You just canāt get much data out of music taste to sell to advertisers.
Iām just tired of everything going to the model of, āif you want this you have to buy it from us.ā
I prefer the model āif you want this you can buy it anywhereā.
Itās all closed systems.
Joe Rogan ass chose to go with closed system. He sucks, total opposite of everything he ever preached.
I havenāt really been interested anymore.
Iām just bored of all the bad COVID takes and right wing grifter guests. The show has become too different since the move to Texas
I canāt really be bothered to mess around with Spotify. On Youtube I would get a heads up about an interesting guest and check in, but I have no channel for that through Spotify.
Agreed. Spotify not going to dowload. He has changed a great dealā¦im sure i would also being a massive millionaire⦠Who knows. But not worth listening.to.anymore. the last time i listened to him was with the signal founder and joe turned into a complete douche. Distasteful.
Listened to it this morning while mopping my floor
I think his heart is in the right place and heās not fake. Thatās great.
Never followed him, donāt know much about him, but this seems spot on:
I think itās [January 6 Commission] really important. And one of the reasons why I think itās important is because it highlights the reasons why a guy like Donald Trump is so fucking dangerous. [It] is because a guy can incite a bunch of morons to do something really fucking stupid.
Good long JR writeup. Not much new, but a measured read.
Joe Rogan is a lame commercialization.
The worst of what most of his original sincere guests and more sincere audience would want to be associated with or become.
So, has podcast Joe not lived up to your expectations of him? I only really know him from the UFC, however I did watch some of the Elon Musk interview.
