Never really watched them. I watched a few of the British standups–or tried to. Never really found them funny.
I do enjoy comedy movies though, so I’m not a joyless grouch. But a guyt standing on stage telling jokes just bores me

Did anyone go to this? How was it?
Asking because J Cleese is still in Taipei. He just visited Longshan Temple.
Curious as to how many people showed up…
It was sold out.
Good news if true.
I was curious, as the promotion company were still advertising tickets 3 hours before doors opening:

Edit: Also, J. Cleese didn’t tweet anything about the show.
Maybe I’m wrong but I saw someone post on FB saying they couldn’t get a ticket
Hey, I’m under 40, only just at 37 though.
It was full where I was sitting downstairs, but yes in general a lot of older foreigners there. A few younger mixed couples seated near me.
He did do an internet ad for it targeted specicially at the Taipei show. It popped up in my YouTube.
Actually I forgot about this, I might have gone. Anybody go and have a review?
By the lack of reviews…
That’s good news.
How was the show? Was it stand-up or anecdotes?
