I started a “Juba needs help” thread before but it got junked after I reported that a lost dog had come back. Please don’t delete this thread again. I have a kind of mini-Animals in Taiwan going and need help regularly.
The animals in my care at the moment are 4 dogs, 1 adult cat, 1 kitten, 1 rat and 2 terrapins. I would particularly appreciate it if anyone would like to walk one or more of the dogs from time to time. I live very near Minquan West Road MRT Station on the Danshui Line. The dogs can be walked along the Danshui River, up around Zhongshan Soccer Stadium, the Art Museum and various other places.
On 21 July my friend Xiao Mo is going to the US for 3 months (as he does frequently) and needs someone to look after his 3 dogs in Xindian. He welcomes someone to stay at his apartment in Xindian where the dogs are. The carer can stay rent free but is asked to pay the electricity bill. For more details, [strike]click here to see the ad on TaiWanted[/strike].
The dogs are about 8 years old. Xiao Mo has raised them since he found a boxfull of abandoned puppies in Danshui.
You can call Xiao Mo on his mobile phone, number 0931085860. He speaks English very well.
If nobody takes up this wonderful offer, I will end up having the dogs at my place i.e. 7 medium-sized dogs in my rooftop shack, which really would be too much.
This might be attractive for a student. Please spread the word…thanks.
Two people contacted me about the flat/dogsit. I asked them to contact Xiao Mo (the owner) directly but for some reason they didn’t, and they didn’t reply to Xiao Mo when he e-mailed them. Xiao Mo went to America on Friday and now his three dogs are at my place, along with my four dogs, cat, rat and two terrapins - not an ideal situation. The apartment deal still stands and will continue to be available for three months. Contact me by PM or reply to the Taiwanted ad if you are interested.

Xiao Mo is going to the US again soon and the same deal is being offered…free accommodation in exchange for dog care. The difference is that there is now only one dog, since the other two died of distemper last summer.

Juba lives at the red dot marked “Nook”
Update: Now I have 7 dogs (down from a peak of 9 after two died in the last few months) and one cat. Believe it or not the terrapins escaped. As before, I would greatly appreciate any help with walking and socialising them, and some of them are available for adoption.
Sorry this is not of much help, but how did they pull that off?
Well first they had to get out of their pool thing. I think the first one got out by climbing onto the other one but eventually the second one managed it on his/her (???) own. Then they must have fallen off the table, and from there they must have found their way through a drain hole onto the roof and walked to the edge and fallen off. I suppose terrapins never go to high places in their natural environment so they haven’t needed to evolve a fear of heights.
