Kinmen eating places

We will be going to Kinmen/Jinmen for a few days next month. Any recommendations of places to eat?

in Shuitou Village near the tower is a good restaurant that serves some interesting local dishes such as a rib and taro soup. It’s in a restored old building so great atmosphere too.

It’s a bit on the other side of the island but one of the best restaurants is in Chenggong Village. As you head up the road toward the village off the main road you will see a restaurant on the right. It’s obvious and well know. Has a sort of 50s tiled look and has been around for decades. Best dumpings by far, and excellent oyster omlette. Also just up the road from this turn down to the beach toward some old western style houses (you go through an obvious and large arch) and there’s a nice little place for tea overlooking the ocean.

There’s a good beef noodle place mentioned in the Lonely Planet in Kincheng. Don’t go to the place on the old street. The food is crap now.

Golden Lion or something like that is a pub run by a Canadian and his Taiwanese wife. Great micro brews from Portland and Cali and a few bar dishes. It’s just down from the Wu River Academy a well known site in Kincheng. The pub itself is in a nice restored courtyard as well.

Kinmen xifan is really really good so make sure your homestay serves it. It’s got big chunks of yummy pork sausages in it.

Oh, and do you know where the beaches are in Kinmen? They have really excellent beaches in case you didn’t know.

I’ve been passing through Kinmen a lot lately. One of the best places in Taiwan, imo.

Any addresses for these places? Particularly the beef noodle place and pub run by a Canadien. Or little more specific direction to get to these places.
