Landing visa extension

I have a 30 day landing visa which is about to expire. If I go to the police station before it expires is there anyway they can give me an extension. I plan on leaving in 2 months after it expires. I’m expecting to pay a $5000 fine. Does this sound right?
Cheers

Take a look at your visa, does it say “Cannot be extended” on it ? I believe landing visas are non extendable, you have to apply beforehand for one that can be extended.

It is non extendable, however I heard that if you plead it is possible to get an extension.
Is this true?

You may have problems next time you want to enter Taiwan again because of such long overstay?

Why don’t you go to HK to get visitor visa or just re-enter Taiwan again? It is much worth to do so rather than paying $5000 fine.
