Sky watchers in Taiwan can witness a partial lunar eclipse, but will not be able to get a glimpse of the total eclipse which will occur after the moon has set. The lunar eclipse for Taiwan viewers will begin at 5:30 a.m. and will end out of sight at 9:30 a.m. Taiwan time. The moon will set in Taiwan around 6:20 a.m. with the total eclipse taking place at 6:44 a.m.
The next time Taiwan will see a lunar eclipse during the Lantern Festival will be on March 3, 2026.

After sunset on March 21, one can see another celestial phenomenon when the planet Mars closes in on a partial moon on the western sky

That happened a few years ago, it was pretty spectacular, a bright dot next to the moon. But I think Mars was at its closest then too, so this time won’t be so bright.
Just in case anyone doesn’t know.

cf, Is this going to be tomorrow? I don’t see a date?
Thanks
Went up to the roof above the 22nd floor this morning around 5:30 … and yes, there it was, the eclipse, though much smaller than I thought it would be.
The moon became more and more yellow before sinking behind Kuanyin mountain just before six. Nothing spectacular, but still worth the effort.
Yeah, I dragged myself out of bed at 5.30am and looked out my bedroom window - the advantage of having a west facing window with no high buildings in the way. I lost it in the haze after about 15 mins.
Good to see, but not as good as the full lunar eclipse I saw from a Thai beach about 10 years ago.
I stayed up for it after a night of Latern Festival activities followed by KTV. It wasn’t as exciting as the solar eclipse I remember from when I was a kid. Just watched the moon go black. A dark night. Was there something else supposed to make it more interesting that I wasn’t looking out for?
