Let’s pretend for a moment that I don’t have a credit card, I have already extensive knowledge of online catalogues and internet shopping options, and am posting on the WCIF forum because I am specifically looking for things that can be found locally.
With that in mind, I am in desperate need of updating my rapidly-declining bra wardrobe and don’t know where to get them. Even the larger more common lingerie shops here leave me frustrated because the cup size is never big enough on the rare instances when I can find the right band size. I am tired of waiting months for shipments to arrive from home and not being able to try them on to make sure they will fit right and blowing tons of money on shipping. I know there are big-breasted women in Taiwan, surely someone has a tip of where to buy bras. It’s the one clothing item I have not been able to find in my size in Taipei. That being a 42DD.
Please help!
Lewd comments, while otherwise appreciated by gutter-minded yours truly, can be left out since I am seeking serious answers on this one. Thanks.
Oh dear… the stupid thing is, I can’t remember the name of the place near Shipai station that I used to find things. Shitty little hole in the wall on the left, if you are walking towards the hospitals. I also bought stuff at another hole in the wall place near YongChun MRT station. I also bought stuff at Wufenpu, on occasions, but you can’t rely on finding your size, because they just have factory seconds.
There is stuff out there, you just have to check your dignity at the door. The ‘chains’ are often not as good as the small places, because they carry only ‘mainstream’ sizes, wheareas the smaller neighbourhood places sell more diverse stuff.
Failing that, Sogo has nice things, but you will PAY (4000NTish).
I found bras my size once, completely by accident, in a little hole in the wall place in Kaohsiung in the Hsing Sing market, righ near Jong Shan Lu, but don’t remember the name of the place, and it’s in K town besides. I was shocked at finding my size there, though. I couldn’t even find my size in the States. They were very expensive, though.
So, this is to say, I really know your pain and frustration! Look in the little nooks and off the street places where you’d never think to look. Notice a large breasted Taiwanese woman on the street and run her down to ask her a personal question. Or find a good taylor. I used to dream of finding a taylor and having custom made bras!

hello! My girlfriend owns 3 lingerie shops here in the Taipei, Ximending area, in the Wan Nian building named Elsa. I was talking to her about this subject a few months ago about why it seems that Taiwan lingerie shops seem to only stock smaller sizes, and she told me that it’s because the majority of the girls in Taiwan are petite, and shops usually don’t like to stock things that they cannot easily turn a profit on quickly. I asked her about being able to get the larger sized bras which she told me that it’s definitely not a problem, but it would help if she knew what styles or types you’re into. Her stores sell mainly Japanese / European style lingerie rather than styles like Victoria’s Secret, but we often do go to look at new stock in various places, so finding different sizes and styles is not a problem. She can also have bras tailored to the right size if need be.
If you would like to stop by and talk to her and give her an idea of what you might be looking for, her name is Elsa, and the number for the store is 02-23618780 or 02-23613465. Elsa and Helen both speak english just in case you can’t speak mandarin (like me, haha).
Well done mischief. I don’t know exactly why I’m in a bra topic exactly, but it does seem that larger ones are most difficult to find.
It reminds me of an episode I had with my mother in a night market.
I was translating her request to the staff in a bra shop and they kept giving her different ones to try on. None were any good judging by the comments my mother was shouting over the changing room door and in the end they asked if they could go in with her to help them understand what was wrong with the selection.
In the end after the woman had entered the changing room with my mum and had fiddled for a while the woman shouted to me over the door what was wrong. I had to shout back to my mother who was in there with her “You’re meat is too soft!” as I preferred the exact translation from Chinese which sounded ever so much funnier in English.
My mother never found a bra the right size in Taiwan and I always had to order them by mail order from the U.K.
There must be a market for larger bras, every time I see a large breasted woman walking around, I always feel the urge to ask them where they get fitted out as I never succeeded in finding one the time my mother was here.
I recon mischief’s GF should get some in and then advertise here of Forumosa or something.
I’m not too sure why i’m in the bra topic either…haha. I guess after being with her, i’ve asked a lot of questions about it…at least enough so I can answer some questions about it .
As far as larger lingerie goes, my girlfriend said that her shop carries sizes 32, 34, 36 , B, C, D because most of the girls in Taiwan fall into these catagories. Keep in mind that these sizes tend to be a little smaller than their american counterparts. For example, a girl wearing an American size 34B, she would give her a 34C here to try on…usually. She has ordered larger sizes for customers before, but doesn’t keep any in stock because of limited places to put things, and because she always wants to keep new styles in stock. She also wholesales to a few of the smaller stores you see in the night markets and such, so we always go to different places to pick new styles. Usually, the styles you see at her stores do have larger counterparts, so her advice would be to go down to the store so she can get an idea of what styles catch your eye and she can take it from there. She has also had customers ask for bras to be a specific fit, so in that sense, she can take it to her seamstress which usually does work in a day or so. She told me that she would love to stock larger sizes, but because there are so many styles and preferences, it’s easier to just have women come down and talk to her so she knows exactly what the customer wants.
btw, for reference, i’m not some pervert hanging out in a bra thread for kicks…haha :loco:
Seems to be a problem for some girl
Taiwan have some stores specially sell bigger clothes, if you happen to read the sign
大尺碼 , this is it.
I know one bra shop sells big size models near the Wangfang Hospital Station.
Step out the exit(only one exit in this station), and find the McDonalds around 100 meters away(Not KFC by the side cross the steet), walk to the McDonalds and hte bra shop is on your right side.
Most Taiwanese shops that sell larger clothes do not stock undergarments, or at least that has been my experience. I could be wrong as I have not been to all of them. I will check out Elsa’s shop. Thank you for the information, mischief.
Hmm… my breasts are also pretty large but I have never troubble finding bras. I am very skinny though, but in Hsinchu almost all undergarment shops have that size… and Taipei really should have!
Erm, that suggests you have a different size.
Well, it’s rare, but there are some very thin women with very big breasts out there. And it can be very difficult to find anything over a C cup at 32 inch band size. Most people seem to think that C’s are large anyway.

exactly…
But that’s not the size the OP asked for. ‘You can find them everywhere in a smaller size’ is information that the OP is already in possession of.

Yes, I agree. I meant that sometimes, when you’re very thin, a bra with a small band size in anything over a C cup can also be very hard to find.
I was also referencing how I got a bunch of smartypants boys rilled saying that picture with little Asian girl’s breasts falling out of her bra was not impressively large, IMO. I’d guess her at a C, but most people seem to think that’s large. I bet Tina’s saying she’s large for her size. It is a ligit problem finding large cups on small band sizes–not just in Taiwan, but in the States, too.
So, now we have two kinds of bra problems–bras that are for larger women with larger breasts, and bras for smaller women with larger breasts. I’ve been in need of both kinds of bras in my lifetime and I can tell you that both are an underserved market in Taiwan. When I was pregnant, in fact, I couldn’t even find a nursing bra that was large enough.
Also–an average sized woman needs support, but supportive bras are very, very important for larger breasts and we end up having to sacrifice beauty for function–at least in the States. Maybe Taiwan can be a place where large can still be lovely, at least in the bra market. I found some 32 band size tripple D’s once that were pretty, but very, very expensive. A girl with a 32 B can buy pretty, supportive bras for 60 NT or less! The way men worship large breasts, it’s hard to understand where this price penalty comes from.
Okay. I am eschewing the search in Taiwan now that I have my paypal account in place, but now I am running into the problem of finding places that a) either take paypal, but won’t ship to Taiwan or b) ship to Taiwan, but don’t take Paypal.
Anyone know of any websites that have plus-size lingerie, take Paypal, and ship to Taiwan?
This topic has come up so often that I seem to have a “watch list” and larger size women are on the list. I had had a long time private student that was most likely 38D. Not large but certainly not small by Taiwan standards and marketing. After pondering if I dare ask for a few weeks, I did.
She explained that she has the same problem but simply checks all the shops she happens to be in or near. She told me they are available without special orders, which they will also do, but simply finds them as she goes.
My suggestion is to go shopping and after a few shops, ask if they can order for you. My friend tells me that most will and there is no obligation to buy what they ordered.
I used to have an international marketing manager for Triumph as a private student but it was so long ago that it won’t help. From her appearance, I suspect that she had the same problem and with that company. Spendy . . . but.
I shop at traditional markets, like Zhengzhong. Sometimes I am really lucky and get really nice stuff. Mostly, it is cheap, and if it doesn’t work, it is not such a big deal.

Sweetie, we know each other in person. Let me know what you want (send me a PM on Facebook or send me email), and I’ll order them on my credit card. I’m coming back to Taipei in January; no exact date yet but they want me there for a meeting that’s usually during the third week. I’ll bring 'em with me, and you can give me the NT$. That will save me paying two sets of bank fees to use my card to get out spending money.
One place I REALLY loved for bras when I was a lot bigger than I am now is Decent Exposures in Seattle. They use a different measuring/sizing system so get someone to actually measure you with a tape measure, but once you follow their instructions you can be sure that they will FIT. They aren’t super-pretty underwire “Madonna” jobs, but they are soooooo comfortable. Also, they are handmade by women paid a fair wage here in Seattle, and they last a really long time too.
But I don’t care where you get them, it’s easy enough to have anybody send stuff here.
