I know I sound like an idiot, but on the weekend I was up the road that goes between 101 and the Convention Center Hall B for the first time in, I guess, a couple years, and the China Trust building is just gone.
They’re building something there now, but the site was friggin leveled.
Who the heck tears down a perfectly functional office building of that size that’s barely 20 years old???
They had these little pop up restaurants on the empty lot there for about 6-8 months. It was kind of cool.
They dismantled it piece by piece. China Trust has a new financial hub over in Nangang.
Chinatrust moved away…
The new 280m Taipei Skytower will move in and join its neighbours, the Nanshan Plaza and Taipei 101. I wonder what kind of gifts they will give their new neighbour…

I heard people talking about all these pop ups but I couldn’t visualize where they were, now I get it.
I swear @Rocket actually lives in Taipei, this makes me sound like a friggin pineapple farmer who never gets to town.
