Legalizing Taiwan Documents for use in Portugal (or other countries w/o embassy in TW)

Anyone have experience legalizing/authenticating Taiwanese documents (birth certificate, police criminal check etc) for use in a country like Portugal who doesn’t have an embassy in Taiwan?

I saw a thread below about legalizing docs for Italy and it seemed like it only required notarization then legalizing by the Italian embassy. But there’s no Portugal embassy in Taiwan.

This is the process I’m thinking of but would like feedback:

1. Obtain Criminal Record (English version)

2. Notarize in Taiwan

3. Authenticate by Taiwan BOCA

4. Authenticate by TECO Lisbon

5. Authenticate by Portugal Ministry of Foreign Afffairs

6. Translate to Portuguese and certify

why not use your other citizenship instead???

Looks reasonable to me, however it’s probably best to reach out to the specific institution that you want to submit the documents to. You might be able to skip some of the steps.

I don’t understand what you’re suggesting. Portugal requires criminal record checks for all counties in which you lived in
