In the spirit of Stephen Miller’s wife where invasion is a fun game…Let’s play the Trump Invasion Game….2026. In 2026 how many countries will Trump invade? And which country is first?
My definition of “invasion” is one or more of the following which might not fit the standard definition but is catchy name and hope explanation below is clear for this game:
-significant armed intervention in or around a country which has major impact on the country’s current or future economic system. For example, this includes major blockades impacting trade.
-removal of one or more high ranking political officials which has major impact on the country’s current or future political system. Removal includes assassinations, arrests, or temporary removals.
-economic sanctions which are major enough to cause significant changes within the country’s political system which meet Trump’s desired results. For example, U.S. sanctions on Russia has not resulted in major changes in the Russian political structure….so would not count.
With the surge in military strikes (for example, in 2025 Trump launched 625 air strikes. In four years, Biden launch 555) we have to set some parameters. To clarify…Trump has launched military attacks in Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, Venezuela, Yemen, and Syria. Of those, I judge the results to indicate whether would include in this game…from that perspective I would say only Venezuela and Syria would count. Just my opinion. Predictions can include countries also impacted in 2025…for example, possibly further strikes or actual invasion could occur in Nigeria or Somalia…which has intended results.
Invade? The US isn’t 19th century Great Britain. The US doesn’t need invade to control a nation or collection of nations. Look at Europe and how its an American vassal state.
but playing along - I predict Cuba, Greenland and Honduras.
Misrepresentation of defending against the China threat. China infiltrated and hijacked governments. The back and forth struggle between US backed proxies and China backed proxies continues.
With that said, key focus areas will be to limit China’s ability to wage war. So resources, supply chains, ports, geographic bottlenecks, etc.
Greenland doesn’t need to be part of the U.S. for the U.S. to leverage its resources and strategic geography (which is already done anyways). I’ll be surprised if it’s “for real” to become a part of the U.S. More likely in my opinion it’s to stoke conversation and highlight the national security threat that China/Russia pose from the Arctic. By drawing attention to the arctic it can act as deterrence.
I think Maduro’s capture will be used to put pressure on countries like Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, and Myanmar.
If China is squeezed out of these areas it will be devastating to China’s intel ops and ambitions.
This going to seem wild, but I think leaving Afghanistan was a huge strategic mistake, because the whole point was to be right on China’s border, monitoring the CCP/Russia/Iran/Pakistan coms and within quick air striking distance of Iranian and Xinjiang nuclear facilities. I think we’re going to see something with Afghanistan - maybe not a re-invasion but some kind of mega-deal that places a huge U.S. base or large scale defensive system in full operation in that region. Strategically it’s a must, and it needs to happen quickly. Trump could also make it look like “we’re gonna recover billions of dollars of our equipment” and use it as another opportunity to dump on Milley yet again
Sorry but you are only right if you are using a different definition from me. I see you are trying to make a distinction which I think is unnecessary for this topic. A general definition of a country is a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory. To my understanding Greenland is an autonomous country, sharing various administrative issues with the Kingdom of Denmark.
If you talk to people from China they will say Taiwan is not a country…but a province of China. Perhaps you view Greenland in this way.
And I honestly do not care about such details for a silly game like this on Forumosa. I only hope that people make some comments which might enlighten me in some way about the ways of the world. Isn’t that mostly the aim of blogs like this….to share viewpoints? I think trying to make nasty comments about other posters is totally unnecessary especially when you have no idea about their political leanings.
The only thing you need to know about recreational warfare is it’s one of the few growth industries for high school graduates left in the U.S. so it’s not going anywhere.
I wouldn’t say “invade” but I wouldn’t be shocked if Iran and Cuba are attacked in the next year. I don’t think military force will be used against Greenland, just some diplomatic mafia coercion. Although it is Trump so who knows…
Hey, the anti-war president! And he’s bombed more countries than Biden! (Venezuela and Iran are still fresh in our minds, but does anyone even remember the Yemen bombing campaign? Plus, there’s the usual occasional bombs against Somalia and Syria, which doesn’t even register as a blip in the news anymore…)
Selfishly I’m actually relieved he isn’t as much of an isolationist as I expected, as I want him to be bombing the shit out of the PRC fleet if they come across the strait. But on the other hand he’s self-interested and a bit chicken shit, and might not bomb anyone he isn’t guaranteed to win a conflict against (eg: Venezuela and Iran). Kinda like the schoolyard bully won’t pick a fight with the other strong kid in class.
Trump is a bully who takes little risks. Definitely Greenland, cause what can they and tiny Denmark do? But there is no need to invade, just make a deal that allows the US to dictate what goes on there and “grab the oil” (rare minerals). He’s not going to Iran, because that’s a different hemisphere, controlling the Americas should be sufficient for him.
I don’t know if guessing that someone is american and a Trump voter is necessarily nasty. I had an idea, I asked for confirmation. I think a simple yes or no would suffice.
Trump is counting on the limited American attention span. If he can just distract everyone’s attention for a month or so they’ll have forgotten completely about the Epstein files and he and his pedophile friends will be safe again.
