Li Jinfei - sword teacher

This is probably a long shot considering he doesn’t seem to have been as well known as other martial artists from the past in Taiwan, but you never know! I’m looking for information about a sword teacher who lived in Taipei called Li Jinfei. I became curious about him after reading his name in a book called Steal My Art about the Tai Chi teacher T.T. Liang (Cheng Manching’s student).

Here’s a video of him I posted earlier in another thread. It was filmed in Taipei, I believe in 1973 or 1974 - so if he’s still living he’s probably in his 90s at least. Anywhere online I can check the records?

You can ask The Taiwan Gung Fu Association. They used to register all qualified Chinese Martial Arts instructors. I think this is the man who taught near Mackay Memorial hospital.

I think that is the right association but cannot remember the exact name of the government run one (it was when the KMT were running the island in the president Lee era). :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Unfortunately my email to them was undeliverable. Took the email people long enough to tell me :joy:

So you think this man Li Jinfei taught near the Mackay Memorial hospital? Perhaps he is a bit more well known than I thought. I’ll keep asking about!

Maybe you could also ask them.

Thanks, tando. I’ll try them as well.

I dont know his name , just remember a Tai Chi teacher who was particularly famous for the sword taught there. I guess that master would be in his 80s now if still alice.
I met that master only once but seems similar.
