Well, I think you could profitably add Yilan -> Nangang -> blue line to Taipei Main -> red line to Shilin to your list of options.
in 2025?
That will also be the end of the line for phase one. Phase two will come much later and extend out to Huilong, creating the spur. Juguang station might be of interest to some people here because it will make New Taipeiās NIA office reachable by MRT at last.
The plan is to tunnel north (parallel to the existing Ziqiang road tunnel) to the National Palace Museum where there will be station. The line will turn west here towards Shilin.
Reachable by any means other than taxi, you say. Pity the dead will be disturbedā¦Oh hell, they may take over the fields nearby, sorry, the soccer field.
Making Icon happy!
Anyone have statistics on foreigners who committee via private vs public transportation in Taiwan?
Iām always surprised to see so many using public transportation. I find it unbearable except in rare circumstances.
Only rich people use their Lexus, Mercedes ā¦ to commute. The riffraff uses public transportation.
What else should I use? MRT or bus is the way to go, after 00:00 am Ubike home.
What? Scooters are cheap and lots of used cars under 100k.
Maybe a lot of them are tourist or short term workers?
It wouldnāt make any sense for them to drive.
Yes. Thatās why I was looking for statistics.
I prefer take the MRT than a scooter. I wouldnāt have a car in Taiwan either.
Whenever someone asks for my thoughts on the brown line: āItās always better going towards Taipei Zoo; but on the train departing from there, letās just say itās a different story - starting with the smell.ā
You find the MRT unbearable? Please explain. Do you find the hoi polloi so distasteful?
Could be the nother way around.
Just sayin
I am ambivalent but yeah, sort of. IĀ“ll be happier when the other side is finished and I can go to NCCU by train.
Just found out one of our coworkerĀ“s kids was killed on the way to school. College kid, one sister left. Sigh.
I have no problem with common Taiwanese, but getting pushed by old ladies, listening to 10 different Korean/Cantonese soap operas, a slapping up against fat office workers playing shitty mobile games or looking at soft porn isnāt my idea of fun. Plus the AC sucks everywhere on the MRT in summer. Iād rather drive in the comfort of my own car and listen to music. Parking isnāt that hard to find.
I leave the car parked for weeks in Taipei. I live central with easy 3 minute walk to public transport bus or MRT going most places.
