Took a couple of buses when I was there, tag on with Google Pay NFC, no need to tag off, and kids under 11 free, very convenient!
We just arrived and had similar experiences. I ran back down the stairs to make sure I tapped in. Still the whole trip was only like 3 dollars to downtown. Had to change to a bus to get to the hotel.
Everything is much dirtier downtown than in Taipei though that’s for sure. Saw what was probably a drug deal go down in broad daylight waiting for the bus.

There is a Department of Transportation at NCCU? That’s interesting. Sounds very specialized or are there many universities that have similar areas is study?
National Cheng Kung University = NCKU, not to be confused with NCCU in Muzha.
I am aware of another department of transportation at Tamkang University, as I have for certain reasons been studying more details about this man.

Nope! That’s a separate beast (massive medical / hospital private conglomeration).

You know the Danhai LRT (and probably other light rails in Taipei really do have a European vibe, even down to the door that you must push a button to open, as well as lack of a real turnstile. Was it designed by a German company?
I wish the card scanner could scan faster… it takes enough time to scan the card that you could miss a train.
