Yep, mine is a minimalist wallet.
Takes wallet out, removes card, uses card, returns card and wallet; Oh, the horror!
I mean they have Apple Pay functionality now; some people are going to use it !
This is a variation on the little old lady that stops, in front of the MRT system fare gate, and starts digging through her bag, looking for that card, it’s got to be somewhere, let’s dig some more, where is that card . . .

Oh I have no problem at all with using an Easy Card!
It’s some of our fellow forumosans who find it to be too heavy, too bulky, too difficult, too much something or other. I am on the other side of this exchange.

you know i can do that now. I can leave my wallet at home and just have my phone or apple watch. Cuz i got me transit card in there and a debit card and a credit card. Only problem is i cant withdraw any cash without a physical card. And you dont really need cash nowadays in SF anyways.
plus have a pic of my drivers license and insurance card on my phone and keep the originals in my car along with its registration card.
think i will soon graduate to doing just that
can the Easy Card be transferred to your cell phone and/or smart watch? Like our Clipper card which can (just choose phone or watch, and it deletes the original hard card).

Many countries in europe require ID on you so that’s not always possible.

I second this! I just carry one of those card holders with a lanyard around my neck and never have to dig into any bags or pockets.

When I was last in Taiwan in 2012 I just had my easy card in the wallet which is pretty thin and the easy card could be read from inside the wallet
Lanyard is the way to go.
This story should probably be placed in the “Life on the MRT 2027” thread—a thread that does not yet exist. Why? It’s focused on the new heavy rail cars that the MRT system has acquired, this time from Rotem in Korea. It appears they will be deployed on the Red Line, perhaps starting in mid-2027. I must say they look pretty snazzy.
