Line App Uses Too Much Storage

I’m at 10Gb storage on phone being used by Line app because some of my friends want to not only send everything on Line app but also keep shared pictures, files, and things inside the Line app.

Edit: to clarify… [I want to download it all but can only do it one picture at a time which doesn’t work when you have hundreds of pictures.]

There are better ways to share manage pictures and files and etc. Google, Apple, Windows all have better options.

Some of my friends sit around at times deleting Line app messages just to keep their phones running but won’t or can’t try something else to make life better.

Just to be clear, I’m talking about in a chat group and under the hamburger menu you or whatever people save all pictures and could be hundreds or thousand pictures there. There’s no way to select all or download all but can select like one of the time and that basically s*cks.

Do you or your office use Line app making it take up huge space on your phone?

My solution is to not use Line.

I am aware however that this solution may not work for others.

Guy

I use line but it only uses like 700mb. Try to reinstall it maybe could help

It’s all the storage in the groups were they have hundreds or more pictures in a group. Sure I can reinstall and lose everything but to clarify…

I want to download it all but can only do it one picture at a time which doesn’t work when there are hundreds of pictures in a group.

Ha… I had the same problem (it was even a bit above your number). I managed to alleviate the problem a bit by removing some chats and especially some group chats with lots of images sent… but still the numbers didn’t make a lot of sense.

Unfortunately a fresh install might be in order, but if you find another solution please share.

That used to be a feature to download all at once.

The desktop app allows you to do this. Open the chat, select the 3 little bubbles, click on photos and videos. Then you can select multiple pictures and download all at once.

You have, within the limits of applicable data protection laws, the right to receive the Personal Data you have submitted to the Company in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit such Personal Data to another controller without hindrance. The Company will, where applicable and technically feasible, transmit your Personal Data directly to the data controller of your choice.

This is an EU law, but they might just give it to you, if you request your data.
Yes, it should have it all, incl. pictures.

You can select multiple files and save or delete them at once.

  1. Tap in a message room.
  2. Tap the type of content you want to save from ‘Photos/Videos’, ‘Files’, or ‘Links’.
  3. Tap ‘Select’.
  4. Select the files you want to save.
  5. Tap . (For save items)
  6. Select the location where you want to save the files.

Yeah, except it takes a shit tonne amount of time to go and select all of them in every conversation.

Some of my conversation have hundreds and hundreds of pictures saved under “Photos/Videos”.

@cats_meow said above can select multiples on desktop so will try that later since I’ve removed Line app from computer and everywhere except on phone.

Except that LINE on desktop doesn’t sync conversations 100%.

There are cutoffs. It will continue saving if you use it constantly, but if you don’t use it for a while, it will only sync the last little while.
