List of 250cc Scoots

I remember there being a “Definitive list of big bikes” thread around here some time back, but I’m too lazy to look for it

Anyway, my mate is looking to upgrade from his old Apex to a new scoot and he wants a 250cc-er, but is uber-picky about the size of them.

So far, all I’ve managed to find for him are the:

Yamaha Majesty 250
Kymco Ego
Kymco Grand Dink (which he refuses to buy due to the name…)
Kymco Xciting
Sym…ummm…whatever the hell that thing is called…the new one with retardedly huge sideview mirror struts
Suzuki Skywave (only one he’s interested in so far)

Am I missing any from that list? I know Honda has the Silverwing, but is that available in Taiwan?

If any of u scoot/bike lovers out there could fill in any I missed, that would be really appreciated. He’s only interested in scooters though, no real bikes.

Thanks a bunch!

I think that Honda makes the Forza in a 250… Newest model looks fairly similar to the Grand Majesty (the 250)

… and stay away from the Kymco… I haven’t heard a lot, but the people I’ve heard from are not impressed with the build quality… not to mention it’s fugly…

I sat on a Kymco Xciting last week. It was huge and really uncomfortable. Not only was the seating position weird, but also the seat went up your bottom!
I have a Kymco EGO 150cc. It runs really well and almost everything about it, in my opinion, is excellent. The only thing that annoys me about it is the storage space under the seat. I thought it would have been bigger. I don’t know about the 250cc version, but I guess it’s the same.
I tried a Yamaha Majesty 250 a few years back. It was very comfortable, just like a lounge chair, only very fast and very expensive.
Hope that helps.
I don’t have any experience with the other scooters you mentioned.

I owned one for over a year. It was fantastic. I miss it dearly.

250cc Ego is great fun. needs a bit of work to make it REALLY fun. i have a 2002 version but was recently in a crash with a taxi making a u-turn that totalled the front end(shocks slammed straight back, locking the front wheel into the bikes frame.) an all new frame and front end was delivered from the factory & installed…all new plastics put back on there…like new again. do a search for my previous posts about the kymco ego 250.

theres one on sale on yahoo auctions right now - tw.f3.page.bid.yahoo.com/tw/auction/c26296149

i rode this bike around the block today while getting a new exhaust installed, very very nice, fully modded(he’s got more mods than me), buttery smooth suspension - so predictable in corners, the owner runs a bike shop in beitou and is an expert in all things ego related. 88,888 is the price listed, which is lower than the list price of a new ego. if my bike hadn’t been repaired following my crash, i was planning on buying this one, sans all the hideous stickers which hide the bike’s nice shape.

theres another shop that i usually go to on YanPing near ShiLin/ShiZi which is also well versed in coaxing more fun out of the 250cc ego. very good shop as well.

Thanks for all the info guys

Just one more question; does anyone know a website that shows all the ones available and their prices? I know Yahoo Taiwan has an excellent and very comprehensive list of all cars available in Taiwan and their prices, but they don’t have anything for scooters/bikes.

Just visit any of the many motorbike/scooter shops around your area, point to a picture and ask how much.
