I’m looking for a light uptodate Linux to run on ‘old’ box pcs with desktop UI. Any suggestions?

Difficult to answer like that…can you give us more details?
Basically your CPU and RAM.

For example, if you got something with 196mo or more…you can try Lubuntu (Light, easy to use and up-to-date)

I’m always a little dubious about that word “light”, whether it’s distributions or frameworks or whatever else.

Have you tried just installing, say, regular desktop Ubuntu and then turning off all the fancy graphics effects and such?
