Long-term Parking at CKS Airport?

Does anyone know a cheap way to park at or near the CKS Airport for three weeks?

I already called the airport (Tel: (03)398-2143) and they told me that the charge is 490 NT per day, which is 10,290 NT for three weeks!

Then I found out that there is a parking lot very close to the airport (Tel: (03) 386-0066) that charges 210 NT per day, which is 4410 NT for three weeks. That’s much better than 10,290 NT, but it’s still quite expensive.

Does anyone know a way to park near the airport for cheaper? (Hopefully, not more than 2000 NT.)

dif you have a china trust credit card (maybe others as well) you get 4 weeks free parking at the airport per year

Well bloody hell! I need to check the small print more often! Thanks for that AWOL. You just saved me a shitload of hassle.

I have two credit cards – one from First Bank and one from Fuhwa Bank.

I don’t have a China Trust credit card, but if I can save 4400 NT, then I’ll apply for one right away! But the problem is I leave Taiwan on August 7th, which is only 20 days from now. There’s probably not enough time to apply for the credit card and get approved in only 20 days, right?

Tomorrow morning, I’ll call First Bank and Fuhwa Bank and see if they also give their cardholders free airport parking.

buy me a beer next time i am game enough to say hi

I just called First Bank and Fuhwa Bank and asked them about parking at the airport. I also called Guo2 Tai4 Bank because my wife’s credit card is from that bank.

Here’s the answers:

  1. First Bank: Free parking for 5 days per year for regular cardholders and 15 days per year for platinum cardholders. For each additional day, the charge is 150 NT per day. (Luckily, my card is a platinum card.) Also, if the credit card is used to pay for the plane ticket(s), then there’s 20 million NT per person of flight insurance!

  2. Fuhwa Bank: Free parking only for platinum cardholders. (I didn’t ask them the number of days because my Fuhwa credit card isn’t a platinum card.)

  3. Guo2 Tai4 Bank: Free parking for only 7 days per year for regular or platinum cardholders. (My wife’s card is a platinum card.) For each additional day, the charge is 250 NT per day.

All three banks told me that the free parking policy only applies if the credit card is used to pay for the plane ticket(s).

The cheapest parking is with First Bank, so that’s what I’m going to go for. To park 21 days, it will only cost 900 NT!

Thanks a lot, AWOL!

Still less than half the cost of a taxi out and back. Nice one. What’s the security like at the carpark?

we left our car there for 12 days. not a problem

I know a place thats a short bus ride away. Outdoor parking. 2,000 / month + 500 deposit for gate opener.

Digging up an old thread.

Has anyone used the long term parking at the Aviation Museum at Taoyuan Airport? According to the airport website the parking costs are significantly lower.

Parked at Zhong hsing behind airport last week, got 150 ntd/day with the first bank business credit card. A little bit slow picking up the car and a bit hard to find at first, but otherwise okay.

Yes, just came back from there… $120 per day at the aviation museum. They shuttle you to departures and you call them to shuttle you back to your car. Good deal.

That’s gone up. It was only 100NT last time I parked there, which was 2 weeks ago.

Not sure why park the car there.

You can take high speed train to TaoYuan station. Then check luggage there if you take China Airline. Shuttle bus right outside the train station. 30 NTD to airport 2 terminals.

Usually I wouldn’t drive but sometimes people need their cars for other stuff before and after trip, like me last weekend.

Good to know that there’s a shuttle to the Aviation Museum parking lot. Thanks for the info. Does it run at night as well? My return flight arrives after the last scheduled HSR train of the night and so the need to use a car.

Yessir… tried and tested

Correct. Also difficult to get to some far-flung parts of the island late at night without your own set of wheels.

I always park at nice parking, at the junction prior to the airport. I pay $125 a day, they run you down to the airport and pick you up when you return. Across the street from Hotai leasing.
