Looking for a nice wedding location in Taipei

Hi folks,

We are looking for a nice wedding location in Taipei next spring… Can anybody recommend something?

  • It will be around 80-90 Guests.
  • We would prefer a nice restaurant over a Hotel (but not a must)
  • Would be great if it had a garden (in case the weather is good, people could have drinks outside…)
  • Great FOOD!
  • Cosy, beautiful atmosphere…

Thanks a lot!

Mr. Rice,

Here are some places my wife (to be) and I have checked out for our wedding. Wish you luck in the arduous task of finding somewhere.

I had the nicest dinner yet at a place called grace hill, a stone’s throw from Neihu Costco. The food was good (!) and the ambience ok. They have an outdoor area complete with a pool with floating rose petals. Very suitable for outdoor drinks, I would think. I bookmarked the website on my other computer - I’ll update with the link later.

I’m getting married there next month… :astonished:

So where did you get married in the end? Would you recommend it?

Does anyone know of updated information for the places mentioned here? The link for laprovonce now goes to a Chinese porn site (or is their restaurant really good?) and taipeicountry.higogo.com.tw/ is dead too :frowning:

Where did everyone else (!) get married? Recommend it?

There is a wonderful place in SanYi called Westlake Resortopia which has it’s own hotel and gardens. They have several dining areas. We had our reception under the covered walkway because the Taiwan VP was there using the main dining facility.

There are also many things to do in the town of SanYi for your guests. They can walk around the town and look at the wood carving galleries.

There is an old train station in the mountains next to Sanyi called Shin Shing and there are many places you can hold a reception there too but not a lot of parking.

I checked that place when I was looking for a wedding location, excellent recommendation, lovely grounds and restaurants, SanYi is also a real nice place to bring foreign guests to sample a bit of culture.
