Hello everyone,
I’m a 21-year-old international model planning to return to Taiwan for about three months of work, with the possibility of extending my stay for another month.
I’m looking for a small studio or a room with a private bathroom and kitchen (or access to one) anywhere in Taipei or New Taipei City. My budget is around NT$10,000 per month.
I know the budget isn’t high, but I hope to find some kind and understanding people who might have a place to rent, or who could offer a room in their home — similar to how international students often rent rooms.
I’ve previously lived in Taiwan for six months and absolutely loved it! At that time, I stayed in my agency’s shared apartment with six people and paid over NT$20,000 for just a bed, so I barely saved anything. This time, I’d love to find something more affordable so I can enjoy Taiwan again without too many expenses.
If anyone has a lead or knows someone who might, please feel free to message me.
Thank you very much!

Yeah, you need to use Chinese to use the site. But you’re talking about Taiwan. Find a way to do it, you’ll need Chinese to do a lot of things if you don’t want to pay tourist premium prices.
There are quite a few offerings for an “independent suite” (own door, not a suite inside someone’s apartment, though that would also be an option) even under NT$10K. BUT they are going to be very, very, VERY small and very, very basic. That is what the market is in this city. But if I were coming over and wanting to establish myself and save money, that’s what I would do. (Assuming I wasn’t willing to just rent a plain old room without a private bathroom. That would make the choices much more livable since you would have the right to use the rest of the apartment.)
Lots of student housing in danshui for around 5000 a month, but that’s for a one year contract. I have no idea how it works for short stays, they may well charge more.
They’ll have private bath but you won’t have a kitchen.
Xinjhuan and sanchong is another less expensive area you can consider. Rent in sanchong is 30% lower than wanhua, but the distance is the same.
I don’t think you have to be a student but it depends on landlords, though seeing we don’t have as many young people anymore they might not always be in a position to be choosy especially if you come in the middle of a school year.
But I’ve heard foreigners saying some won’t rent to foreigners…
