Hello, I’m looking to become a US/Taiwan dual citizen. I literally have all documents (US passports, parents’ marriage certificate, my birth certificate) except for his Taiwan passport/ID since he immigrated 50+ years ago. Would I be able to obtain this information from TECO in Taiwan? I have some of his old middle/high school report cards in Taiwan and on it states his mailing address too…but that’s all I can find. Or any other way to verify his Taiwanese citizenship?
TECO is not in Taiwan.
It is in Seattle, NY, SanFran, LA, etc.
Have you called them up to ask on details (until someone else here might have better answer)?
May or may not work, how about trying to get his 戶籍謄本? Do you think you can figure out his household office from his address?
Probably contact that office to see if you can get his 戶籍謄本 from there and how you can go about it (may be easier if you still have relatives there). “除戶戶籍謄本” will be the type you should get. And try to get them in both Chinese and English if it can help link his name in both languages.

Does it have his ID number? If so it should be easy to verify his citizenship since the ID number is basically only for citizens. You will need that to get the household registration paperwork because that’s the only way the government can find his info.
