Looking to Rent in Hukou, Hsinchu (湖口，新竹)

Helping a friend out on finding rental, and we had no luck in 591.

In our 5 years plus living in Taiwan as a student this is our first time being rejected because our 國籍.

Our chinese is not bad, at least a B1 level and since my friend is just starting his adult life he’s looking for a more reasonable price rental near 湖口，新竹.

Sadly the home owners all say “不給外籍人士” even though I explained that we have good Chinese and is not criminals.

So we folded, if persuasions doesn’t work. We ought to find a plan B, which is 仲介.

If anyone of you lovely people out there knows which company is good for house hunting or if there’s any good Facebook rental (especially in Hsinchu area) we’re very much thankful for the information.

I know this is not a big deal, but being 欺負’d and got rejected like this sucks. How come looking for houses are much worse than looking for job, we have lesser problems in Hualien. But I guess 湖口 has too many problematic foreigners?

I know, that’s why I was furios at the last one and they folded… but it still gave me the ick you know…

Never experienced such hard house hunting before… If I say it’s illegal, they’ll say 沒辦法. And even if they folded they’ll still have this “stereotype” on foreigners, and be wary that we might be doing illegal shits inside their rent… so stupid…

No, only via call. Sadly no written papers to report to authorities
