Them Dems…they wrote the book on it!
Little bit of Peace Frog from the Doors
There’s blood in the streets, it’s up to my ankles (she came)
Blood in the streets, it’s up to my knee (she came)
Blood in the streets, the town of Chicago (she came)
Blood on the rise, it’s following me
Think about the break of day
Seems like riot to me, cars on fire and flighting with police on streets, a protest would not burn cars? My Taiwanese friend there worries, she says seems more unsafe now. Big number of Taiwanese hope they get by ok.
That’s one thing some of posters on here will never get–some of us are the offspring of hippies that lived and went to uni in the US in the 60s. Grew up to the songs, the leftist politics etc. (before being turned to the dark side ha ha). Means I know what buttons to push, and often how to win in debate. And I do 9.9 times out of 10.
I think this is wise advice. The situation is extremely volatile.
In fact, if you have travel plans to any other major American city on the West Coast, I’d hold off on that if you can, at least until we see how this develops. If you must travel then obviously try to stay in wealthy areas, especially in LA.
I would avoid travel, if possible, to any so-called “sanctuary city” (like LA) for the time being, anywhere in the US.
The situation is very similar to the George Floyd riots in 2020 in that the violence is downplayed but very real. Because sanctuary cities purposely fly in the face of Federal immigration law, these cities are vulnerable at the moment.
I do advise to avoid sanctuary cities for the moment, anywhere in the US. A sanctuary city will identify itself as such on its city government web page.
