James Soong, leader of the opposition People First Party, filed the libel suit against the former president after he insinuated in April 2004 that Soong left tens of thousands of opposition demonstrators behind in order to return home to pay mahjong.

The district court originally ordered Lee to pay 10 million Taiwan dollars to Soong and run apologies in 10 newspapers, but in an appeal trial in the high court, judges reduced the amount to 2-million Taiwan dollars and the number of newspapers to run the apologies to three.[/quote]
Isn’t CSB also convicted of the same crime against Elmer Fung?
All these convicts running the country…

Well…does that mean that the system works or not?

so did soong make any money at that mahjong game? sounds like he lost big time. sour grapes and all that.

reminds me of the lee dynasty in singapore.

AFAIK, soong has never proven that he did NOT run away and play mahjong.

shouldn’t elmer fudd be in jail? didn’t he rape (sorry, have unwanted sex with) his maid? or was that thrown out too? what is that saying about people in glass houses…

See “Elmer Fung - political target or rapist?”
